What data do we collect?

We collect anonymous and personal information, only when necessary, so that we can:

Our websites and apps use Plausible to gather anonymous and aggregated usage data, according to the GDPR requirements.

The goal of the data collection is to track overall trends in our websites and apps, not to track the individual users. For this reason all the data is gathered in a strictly aggregate mode.

Orders and payments

Our websites and apps use Stripe to process orders and payments. Credit card details are managed entirely by Stripe and never transit over our servers, even temporarily.

In other words, at the time of purchase, you will be redirect to a Stripe hosted page.

Personal information collected by Stripe:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Billing address
  • Credit card details

Collecting this information is necessary to process the order and payment, deliver the product and identify you in the future as the licensee or owner of the purchased product.

Some of our services, like the License Manager, may use the information provided to create and manage accounts. Every customer will be able to access a dedicated page (Stripe Customer Portal) to manage personal information and payment methods shared by Stripe and any of our services.

License Manager

Licenses are issued and managed with a tool we developed internally, called License Manager. The service is hosted on our servers (learn more).

Personal information collected by the License Manager:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • IP address

The License Manager does not use passwords as an authentication method. Access is provided through an ephemeral magic link sent via email or a passkey (learn more).

Mailing lists

Our mailing lists are managed by a self-hosted instance of Sendy.

Personal information collected by Sendy:

  • Full name
  • Email address

You can unsubscribe from a list by following the link at the end of every message or by contacting us at [email protected].

This information may be temporarily shared with Amazon Simple Email Service to perform the delivery of the message.

Support

Support and other internal processes may require customer information or communication to be shared with team members through Basecamp.

Voluntary correspondence

When you email us with a question or to ask for help, we collect that correspondence, including your email address, so that we have a history of past correspondence to reference if you reach out in the future.

We also store information you may volunteer, for example, written responses to surveys. If you agree to a customer interview, we may ask for your permission to record the conversation for future reference or use. We will only do so with your express consent.

Crash reports

Whenever an app crashes, we may collect a report to help us identify and fix the issue.

Crash reports may include anonymous information such as:

  • State of the app
  • Operating system
  • Device state at the time of the crash

Crash reports may include personal information such as:

  • Device UUID
  • Email address

The report’s gathering is automatic by default, but you may change this behaviour in the app settings. In such case the app will ask for your permission every time.

How do we store your data?

Our products and other web properties are primarily hosted within the borders of the European Union. Databases, backups and other tools we use to store customer’s personal information or customer’s generated data are stored solely and strictly within the borders of the European Union.

Our stance on data resell

We are firmly against data resell. We will never do it and we will always look for third-party services that respect the same policy.
